Born in New York City, Goldstone began his career in the film industry as a film editor before transitioning into production. He produced several notable films, including The Asphalt Jungle (1950), a film noir classic directed by John Huston, and The Red Badge of Courage (1951), an adaptation of Stephen Crane's novel.
