Following the rise of the Nazi regime, Nosseck emigrated in 1933 and worked across France, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands before settling in the United States in 1939, where he directed films primarily for MGM, sometimes using the name Alexander M. His career spanned silent cinema, European exile productions, Hollywood genre films, and postwar German television.
