He began his career as a production manager and assistant director before making his directorial debut with God Forgives... I Don't! (1967), which introduced the successful pairing of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill. Colizzi continued to work with the duo in Ace High (1968) and Boot Hill (1969), forming a trilogy that became iconic in the genre. His films are noted for their dynamic action sequences and engaging storytelling, contributing to the popularity of Spaghetti Westerns in the late 1960s.
